The island where Tidus washes up and Yuna grew up with Wakka and Lulu.
Besaid is the island in Final Fantasy X where Tidus washes up after Sin attacks him during a blitzball game in Zanarkand. Yuna grew up there with Wakka, Lulu and Wakka's brother Chappu, and begins her pilgrimage from the island.
Lore & Background
Yuna was brought to Besaid as a child: the dying Auron asked Kimahri Ronso to fulfil a promise he had made to her father Braska, to move her from Bevelle to Besaid so she could have a peaceful childhood, and Kimahri delivered her safely. Wakka captains the Besaid Aurochs, a blitzball team that had gone ten years without a win when the game begins.
In Final Fantasy X-2, Rikku persuades Yuna to leave Besaid after showing her a sphere of a person resembling Tidus. In the audio drama Final Fantasy X -Will-, Lulu is the mayor of Besaid Village.
