Ultima Weapon

The ancient Allagan warmachine Gaius pilots at the Praetorium.

In Final Fantasy XIV the Ultima Weapon is an ancient Allagan warmachine. Gaius van Baelsar and the Ascian Lahabrea intercede with it against the adventurer, and it consumes three primals to increase its power.

Lore & Background

At Lahabrea's urging, Gaius plans to conquer Eorzea with the Weapon, while the Ascian intends to use it to trigger a Calamity. The adventurer assaults Gaius's stronghold, the Praetorium, where Gaius pilots the Ultima Weapon in battle; shielded by Hydaelyn's Blessing of Light, the adventurer destroys it and leaves Gaius behind in the explosion.

In Shadowbringers, Estinien reports an Imperial copy of the Ultima Weapon he encountered while escaping. Ultima is also one of the series' recurring spell names, alongside Holy and Meteor.
