Zodiark is the dark god of the Ascians in Final Fantasy XIV, hooded immortals who trigger Calamities on the Source to 'Rejoin' its shards and resurrect him. Lahabrea reveals this purpose after defeating the adventurer, and Emet-Selch seeks to use the apocalypse of the First to restore his deity.

Shadowbringers reveals the truth: eons ago the Ancients, facing the Final Days, created Zodiark by sacrificing three-quarters of their people, and he stopped the disaster. Fearing his power, dissident Ancients summoned Hydaelyn, who imprisoned him and sundered the world. Neither is a god; both are primals created by Emet-Selch's people.
