Background

In the Last Son storyline a spacecraft lands in Metropolis carrying a Kryptonian boy who speaks only Kryptonian. Superman takes him from the Department of Metahuman Affairs and raises him with Lois, and Batman names him Christopher Kent. His arrival releases Zod, Non and Ursa from the Phantom Zone; after their defeat, Chris follows them back in so the Zone's entrance can close.

Born in the Phantom Zone, Chris suffers uncontrollable growth spurts. Aged rapidly, he takes the Nightwing codename alongside Thara Ak-Var as Flamebird, hunting Phantom Zone criminals hiding on Earth as sleeper agents.

After DC Rebirth, Lor-Zod was reintroduced in 2017 as a supervillain loyal to his father's philosophy, partnered with Sinson, the alleged child of Sinestro, and the Chris Kent identity was written out of continuity.
