Lore & Background

In Young Justice, Wally West is Kid Flash rather than the Flash. He gained his powers from an attempt to recreate the accident that gave Barry Allen his, and he can run at hypersonic speed. The series shows him as the Team's flirtatious jokester, always ready with a comeback, who gradually grows more mature and begins a romantic relationship with Artemis. He is the nephew by marriage of Barry Allen, the Flash, and works with a team of young heroes that operates covertly under the supervision of the Justice League.

Reader's Guide

Wally West appears as Kid Flash in the first two seasons of Young Justice. He is a founding member of the Team, whose core members also include Robin, Aqualad, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis, and a close friend of Dick Grayson. By the second season he has retired from heroics and attends college with Artemis; he returns to help stop an alien invasion and dies saving the world in the season finale. Afterwards Bart Allen takes up the Kid Flash mantle.
