Phantom Zone

The Kryptonian prison dimension.

The Phantom Zone is a prison-like parallel dimension in DC Comics created by the Kryptonians as a place of exile for dangerous criminals; those sent there neither age nor die. It first appeared in Adventure Comics #283 (April 1961).

Lore & Background

The Phantom Zone appears in the fourth season of Young Justice. When Superboy is apparently killed on Mars, Phantom Girl secretly transports him into it, where he is trapped with General Zod and his wife Ursa. Supergirl was also imprisoned there before Darkseid freed her. Lor-Zod, Zod's son, searches for the Phantom Zone projector, which is in Metron's vault.
