The Reach Scarab
The alien armor bonded to Jaime Reyes's spine.
The Blue Beetle scarab, first a magical Egyptian artifact in the Dan Garrett stories, was later revealed as advanced alien technology: a tool of war of the Reach, given to a world's champion. Jaime Reyes, the third Blue Beetle, finds that it forms a battle suit that lets him fight crime and travel in space.

Background
In Young Justice, the scarab is made by the Reach. Ted Kord never bonds with it, and he is killed trying to stop Sportsmaster and Deathstroke from claiming it; it ends up with Jaime Reyes. Bonded to Jaime's spine, it generates armor and weapons and often advises violent solutions, which Jaime ignores. Black Beetle and Green Beetle carry similar scarabs; Zatanna frees Jaime and Green Beetle from the Reach's control. The scarab, Khaji Da, is voiced by Eric Lopez.
