Saidar
The female half of the One Power, the half women can channel safely.
Saidar is the female half of the One Power, the male half being saidin. Only women can channel safely, because the Dark One tainted saidin at the end of the Age of Legends; saidar remained clean, and the Aes Sedai, a matriarchal order of female channelers, grew into a power both respected and feared across the world.
Lore & Background
The Seanchan treat female channelers as too dangerous to be free: they collar them with a ter'angreal called an a'dam, through which women called sul'dam control the channeling of the enslaved damane. In A Memory of Light Rand al'Thor uses a unique weave of saidin, saidar and the Dark One's True Power to capture the Dark One and recreate his prison without flaw.
