Balefire

A weave that burns a target out of the Pattern, undoing its recent past.

Balefire is a powerful weave of the One Power that burns a person's thread backwards through the Pattern, erasing the target from existence retroactively and undoing their actions for a short time before they were struck. In The Fires of Heaven Rand al'Thor kills attacking Darkhounds with it in Rhuidean.

Lore & Background

In The Gathering Storm Rand uses the Choedan Kal to wipe out Graendal's entire palace with balefire, and M'Hael, the former Mazrim Taim, wields it in the Last Battle.
