Merovingian's Restaurant serves as a lavish, surreal dining hall located within the digital realm of the Matrix. It belongs to the Merovingian, one of the oldest programs in the Matrix, who with his wife Persephone runs a smuggling ring that gives a haven to exiled programs. In The Matrix Reloaded, Neo, Morpheus and Trinity visit the Merovingian to ask for the Keymaker, whom he is imprisoning, and he refuses to let him go.
