Turtle Armor is a Hardmode melee armor set in Terraria, available once the mechanical bosses have been defeated. It is made of the Turtle Helmet, the Turtle Scale Mail and the Turtle Leggings.

Background

Crafting the whole set takes 54 Chlorophyte Bars and 3 Turtle Shells. The full set gives 65 defense, 15% damage reduction, 14% melee damage and 12% melee critical strike chance, and makes enemies much more likely to target the wearer. Its set bonus is a strong Thorns effect that returns twice the contact damage an enemy deals, and a turtle shell appears on the player's back. That reflected damage does little in boss fights, since bosses mostly attack with projectiles and lasers that do not trigger it. Because it draws aggro, the set works well in a support role in multiplayer, and it can be seen as the Hardmode counterpart of Cactus armor.
