In Their Own Story

The moon hung low and sickly above the corrupted forest as the hero stood before the Ancient Manipulator. In one hand, they held the Muramasa, its blade dripping with shadow; in the other, the Vilethorn, pulsing with a malevolent green light. With a deep breath that tasted of ash and ozone, they combined the artifacts. A surge of dark energy erupted from the anvil, swirling into a crescent shape before solidifying into a jagged, obsidian-edged broadsword. The Night's Edge was born, its glow illuminating the hero's determined face as the first waves of demons began to rise from the earth.

The Night's Edge is a high-tier melee weapon designed for players who have conquered the early game bosses and are preparing for the transition into Hardmode. It functions by swinging in a wide arc that extends significantly beyond the player's reach, dealing damage to multiple enemies simultaneously. To wield it effectively, one must understand its unique attack pattern. Unlike standard swords that hit directly in front of you, this blade creates a crescent-shaped energy projectile that travels outward and then curves back toward the user. This allows skilled warriors to hit enemies behind them or at a distance without turning. Crafting requires gathering Demonite or Crimtane bars, Chlorophyte bars (or Muramasa), and Vilethorn (or its Crimson equivalent).
