Ganath Haros

Vholran's secretive Realm of Water, whose mind-controlled people ride boats to be hollowed.

Ganath Haros is the dominion ruled by Vholran Igniseri, the water lord, in Tales of Arise. Called the Fortress of Naught in the ancient tongue, it is shrouded in far more mystery and secrecy than the other four realms of Renan-occupied Dahna.

Background

The previous Lord, Urwagil Hildris, was reportedly killed by Vholran, who took his place and used his powers to mind-control both the Dahnans and his fellow Renans into utter obedience, a practice one Lenegis citizen noted with disgust. He instituted a gruesome practice in which mind-controlled citizens undertook death rides on boats to a place beneath the fortress, where they were hollowed and their astral energy absorbed by Vholran; Dohalim il Qaras speculated that the display was meant to provoke the party.

Del Fharis Castle, said to have been built by Vholran himself in a matter of years, houses the throne he constructed of ice, and after his death it was sealed off pending demolition. Pelegion, the capital, demands mindless subservience of all; in the New World it holds Renan refugees and Dahnans struggling to regain their identity. A village of escaped slaves hides in caves, and Shinefall Woods, rich in water astral energy, lead to eroded tunnels. Ganath Haros is the only realm with no resistance organization.
