The elemental cores of the Five Lords, gathered to form the Renas Alma of the Crown Contest.

The Master Core is a key item in Tales of Arise. Each core houses a specific element of astral energy, and whenever a Crown Contest is held one of the five elements and its master core is bestowed upon a Lord.

Background

Each Lord is given a realm to extract energy from and store in a spirit vessel, which then powers the master core. At the end of the contest the cores are said to be gathered to form the Renas Alma, bestowed upon the winner, who is crowned Sovereign. Though the populace is told only of the five cores of the Dahnan elements, a sixth core of Dark is held by the Red Woman; all six are brought together after Vholran Igniseri's defeat, and the Red Woman steals away the resulting Renas Alma.

The Forbidden Zone explains that beneath a core's spherical outer layer lies a forcefield crystal for containing and stabilizing astral energy, which prevents the sentience of Spirits from forming; each lord can withdraw energy from the stored stock. The cores are rendered obsolete once the Renas Alma is formed. Because they store vast amounts of astral energy they respond to people's emotions, as when Dohalim il Qaras goes berserk when his trauma resurfaces.
