Stylasterias is a genus of starfish belonging to the family Asteriidae. The only species in this genus is *Stylasterias forreri*, commonly called the velcro star. Rows of large spines run along each arm, and each spine is encircled by 30 to 40 tiny, pincer-like structures called pedicellariae. Between the spines are tufts of pale gills.
