Background
Fool's Errand was published in October 2001 in the UK and January 2002 in the US, The Golden Fool a year later, and Fool's Fate in October 2003 in the UK and February 2004 in the US; the UK covers were illustrated by John Howe and the US covers by Stephen Youll. Fitz lives in a cottage with the wolf Nighteyes and his adopted son Hap until Chade asks him to train Prince Dutiful in the Skill, and he is drawn into the search for the missing prince and the struggle with the Piebalds, Witted extremists.
