Background
With an almost entirely new cast, it tells of the return of dragons to the Rain Wilds and how humans react to a new predator in the world. The dragon queen Tintaglia and her mate Icefyre leave the Bingtown Traders and Rain Wilders to tend their weak, flightless offspring, and a group of keepers sets out to bring the young dragons to the legendary Elderling city of Kelsingra. Hobb first conceived the story as one book; it was published in four volumes, Dragon Keeper, Dragon Haven, City of Dragons and Blood of Dragons, all by HarperCollins Voyager in the UK with covers by Jackie Morris.
