Background

Brought to the royal family at six, Fitz swears loyalty to King Shrewd and is trained in secret by Chade. He has both the Skill, the telepathic magic of the Farseer line, and the despised Wit, through which he bonds with the wolf Nighteyes. Accused of King Shrewd's murder and tortured by Regal, he survives by retreating into Nighteyes's body, and he later helps Verity become a stone dragon to save the kingdom. His daughter by Molly, Nettle, is raised by Burrich. Fifteen years later, as Tom Badgerlock, he returns to Buckkeep to find Prince Dutiful and becomes his Skillmaster. In his fifties he lives at Withywoods with Molly and their daughter Bee, and is publicly recognised as Prince FitzChivalry.
