Hazel Levesque

A daughter of Pluto who commands precious metals and gems and fights alongside the Seven.

Hazel Levesque is a demigod daughter of Pluto, the Roman god of the underworld and wealth. She is one of the seven protagonists in The Heroes of Olympus series. She also appears in The Trials of Apollo, where she and Frank help Apollo and Meg protect Camp Jupiter in The Tyrant's Tomb, and in The Court of the Dead. She grew up in the 1940s in New Orleans and died when she buried herself and her mother to delay the giant Alcyoneus' rebirth, but was later brought back from the dead by her half-brother Nico. She is a member of the Seven, the group of demigods destined to defeat the giants.

Background

Hazel Levesque is the daughter of Pluto, the Roman god of the underworld and wealth. When she was born, Pluto offered to grant her mother a wish, but the request for wealth backfired into Hazel's ability to control precious metals and gems, which both first saw as a curse. Decades later, her half-brother Nico found her in the Underworld and brought her back to the world of the living. Her boyfriend is Frank Zhang, and Nico di Angelo is her half-brother. Hazel's unique ability allows her to manipulate precious metals and gems from the earth, a power she initially feared but later learned to control. Her character arc involves confronting her tragic past and finding acceptance among her friends at Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood.
