Medusa's Head is a severed Gorgon head that retains its petrifying gaze after Medusa's death. In the 2010 film, Percy decapitates Medusa at a garden center in New Jersey, and Grover later kills a Hydra with her head at the Parthenon in Nashville. Even severed, the head turns to stone those who see it: in the TV series, Percy uses it to petrify Alecto.
