Lore & Background

The Prophecy of Seven called for seven demigods: Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Jason Grace, Leo Valdez, Piper McLean, Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang. A giant can only be killed by a demigod and a god working together. The giants were killed at the Acropolis in Athens with the help of the gods in their Greek forms; the final confrontation with Gaea then took place at Camp Half-Blood. The gods' split Greek and Roman personalities were healed by the return of the Athena Parthenos, which Reyna brought to Camp Half-Blood.

Reader's Guide

Ignited by Gaea’s stirring, the Seven traversed Europe to seal the Doors of Death and weaken her influence. Their journey strained Greek-Roman alliances while skirmishes against regional Giants tested their resolve. When mortal power faltered, Olympians were forced into direct combat. As Jason contained the goddess, Piper charmspoke Gaea to sleep while Leo and Festus bombarded her with fire; Leo's supernova of fire and Octavian's onager shot atomized Gaea and scattered her essence.
