Forest of Death
The Forest of Death is the site of the second phase of the Chunin Exams in Konoha, overseen by the examiner Anko Mitarashi. Each team of three must survive the forest and reach the tower at its centre within five days.
Lore & Background
Every team receives either a Heaven Scroll or an Earth Scroll, has to take the other kind from a rival team and must bring both to the tower; opening a scroll is against the rules. Teams turn on each other at once: minutes after entering, Naruto is knocked out by a Hidden Rain genin who takes on his appearance to infiltrate Team 7.
Reader's Guide
The forest is where Orochimaru strikes. Having killed a Kusagakure ninja named Shiore and taken her identity, he tests Sasuke Uchiha in person and brands him with a Curse Mark.
