Stain

The Hero Killer, who set out to purge society of "fake" heroes.

Stain, known as the Hero Killer, is a villain in My Hero Academia. A former hero trainee, he grew disillusioned with the hero system when he saw how many people became heroes for money and fame. After a short career as the vigilante Stendhal he became a serial killer bent on purging society of villains and "fake" heroes alike; to him All Might is the only true hero.

Lore & Background

His Quirk, Bloodcurdle, paralyses a person for a time once he has ingested their blood. In Tokyo he attacks and maims the Pro Hero Ingenium, the older brother of Tenya Ida, and Ida goes looking for him in Hosu City in search of revenge. Izuku Midoriya and Shoto Todoroki join the fight and, together with Ida, defeat him. Even then Stain stays conscious long enough to save Izuku from a winged Nomu, calling him an ideal hero.

Reader's Guide

Stain is sent to Tartarus, but his ideology spreads. Himiko Toga, Dabi and Twice join the League of Villains believing he was allied with it, and Spinner models his look and fighting style on him. After the Paranormal Liberation War he escapes during All For One's attack on the prison, taking a disk of Tartarus's security records, which he hands to All Might a month later. He then helps All Might fight All For One, who kills him and steals his Quirk.
