Taven
Armageddon's hero, son of Argus, sent to claim Blaze's power.
Taven is the older of two brothers charged with preventing Armageddon and the hero of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon's Konquest mode, which follows his quest to save the realms by claiming the power of the elemental Blaze. He is the son of the Edenian god Argus and the sorceress Delia.
Lore & Background
The mode ends with Taven beating Blaze, but his victory only makes the other warriors stronger instead of stopping the final battle. The 2011 reboot instead has Shao Kahn take Blaze's power, which implies that Taven lost. He has not featured in the rebooted timeline's story except in non-canon endings.
Reader's Guide
He was called 'Bob' during development until a name was found, and Ed Boon at first disliked the final name. Critics found him bland: Destructoid called him the most bland character in the series, and Den of Geek placed him 58th of 73.
