Although the survivors escaped with their sample, Rexy's intervention highlighted that no area of Isla Nublar remained safe for outsiders. Her domain extended beyond simple hunting grounds, serving as the island's primary defense against unauthorized entry. The ecosystem around her was shaped by her role as an apex predator who had no natural enemies on the island, a status reinforced when she later intervened in the volcanic evacuation to devour the villainous Eli Mills and trample his stolen Indominus rex bone at the Lockwood estate.

In Their Own Story

Six months after the Jurassic World incident, a mercenary team arrived on Isla Nublar to collect DNA from the deceased Indominus rex. As a two-man crew collected a bone sample near the lagoon, Rexy emerged from the shadows of her territory. She attacked the intruders, killing one man while the others fled by helicopter with their prize. The Mosasaurus subsequently devoured their submersible and killed another team member as it swam through open gates into the ocean. Three years later, during the volcanic crisis, Rexy's presence was felt again when she confronted the chaos at the Lockwood estate. As Mills attempted to escape with a bone fragment, Rexy appeared, devouring him and trampling the evidence of his betrayal before fleeing the grounds alongside Blue and other released dinosaurs.
