2MASX J09194427+5622012, also cataloged as OGC 195 and [BHF2008] 05, is a massive elliptical galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major. It serves as the brightest cluster galaxy of the WHL J091944.3+562201 cluster, which has 45 confirmed galaxy member candidates.
This elliptical galaxy, classified as Type E, has an R-band magnitude of 16.92 and an absolute R-band magnitude of -23.96. Its effective radius, determined by a best-fit Sérsic model, is 4.97 parsecs, and its total dynamical mass is 12.37 solar masses. The galaxy's ellipticity is 0.198 ± 0.020, with a velocity dispersion of 371 kilometers per second, and its inner profile features a shallow core. The total stellar mass is estimated at 12.6 × 10¹¹ solar masses, and it is surrounded by a dark matter halo that contributes at least 6% of its mass. The projected half-light radius is 16.9 kiloparsecs, with a velocity dispersion of 356 kilometers per second. The de Vaucouleurs luminosity is -24.40, while the bulge and disk radii are 16.90 and 22.23 kilometers, respectively. No dust features are present.
A 2016 study found that the galaxy has a depleted core. The core-Sérsic break radius has a surface brightness of 18.04⁺⁰·⁰⁶₋₀·₀₁ magnitude per square arcsecond, and the break radius itself is 0.55 kiloparsecs. The supermassive black hole at its center has a mass of 10.6⁺⁸·⁴₋₈·₁ × 10⁹ solar masses.

Lore & Background
2MASX J09194427+5622012 is an elliptical galaxy of Type E, classified as an early-type galaxy. Its inner profile is best described by a shallow core, and a study published in 2016 found the presence of a depleted core. The core-Sersic break radius has a surface brightness of 18.04+0.06−0.01 magnitude per square arcsecond, and the break radius itself is estimated to be 0.55 kiloparsecs. The galaxy shows no presence of any dust features. It is surrounded by a dark matter halo, with the dark matter component contributing at least 6% of the total mass. The supermassive black hole at its center has a mass of 10.6+8.4−8.1 × 10^9 M☉.
Reader's Guide
2MASX J09194427+5622012 is significant as a massive elliptical galaxy that serves as the brightest cluster galaxy of the WHL J091944.3+562201 cluster, with 45 confirmed member candidates. Its total dynamical mass is 12.37 M☉, and its total stellar mass is estimated at 12.6 × 10^11 M☉. The galaxy's velocity dispersion is 371 km/s, and its ellipticity is 0.198 ± 0.020. The presence of a depleted core, identified in a 2016 study, and a supermassive black hole with a mass of 10.6+8.4−8.1 × 10^9 M☉, highlight its structural and dynamical properties. The dark matter halo contributes at least 6% of the mass, and the galaxy lacks any dust features. These characteristics make it a key object for studying galaxy evolution and cluster dynamics.
