Suì-Fēng

Lore & Background

Squad Two handles surveillance, covert work, the imprisonment of troublesome Soul Reapers and assassination. Suì-Fēng is harsh with her subordinates on purpose, to keep them alert. As a child she was Yoruichi's bodyguard and became her protégé, and Yoruichi's departure left her feeling abandoned. A running joke follows the pair afterwards: she loves anything that looks like a black cat, the form Yoruichi can take, and gets jealous when Yoruichi spends time with others.

When Yoruichi comes back to Soul Society a hundred years later, Suì-Fēng fights her and cannot win. She asks why she was left behind, and the two settle their differences.

Did You Know?

• Suì-Fēng's English voice, Karen Strassman, also voices Momo Hinamori.
• Her bankai is usually usable only once every three days.

Suzumebachi

Released with "Sting all Enemies to Death", the sword shrinks into a black and gold stinger worn on her right middle finger. A hit leaves a hornet's crest on the target; a second strike on the same crest kills, a technique called Nigeki Kessatsu. She can also stab herself to fight off a foreign poison with her own.

Bankai

Jakuhō Raikōben is a huge gold missile launcher, bigger than she is, that covers her right arm and shoulder. It is hard to move with, and she can normally fire it only once every three days; a second shot in a day drains her badly and costs her the speed her fighting style depends on.

Fighting style

Outside her sword she fights hand to hand with shunpo, and she reworked the secret art Shunkō into a wind-based version.
