Victors' Village

The enclave of large houses given to Hunger Games winners in each district

The Victors' Village is a well-off enclave in each district of Panem where past Hunger Games winners live in large houses handed to them as part of their prize. District 12's village lies about half a mile from the town square and has twelve houses, but nine of them stood empty after the 74th Games, since Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark were its only residents. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes traces the idea back to a young Coriolanus Snow, who proposed it after the 10th Hunger Games as a way to tempt better tributes to volunteer.
