The Rim
The Golds of the outer moons, who broke from the Society and ruled themselves.
The Rim, in Pierce Brown's Red Rising series, is the domain of the Gold families of the outer moons, centred on Io and House Raa. When Harmony's betrayal gets Io's ArchGovernor Revus au Raa murdered at Darrow's victory feast, the Rim Golds rebel against the Society; Romulus au Raa takes Io out of the Society in the Second Moon Rebellion and later rules the Rim Dominion as its Sovereign.

In Morning Star, Romulus sides with Darrow against Roque in return for Rim independence and the Rim's Sons of Ares, before Darrow and Victra destroy Ganymede's shipyards to weaken the Rim. In Iron Gold, Dido au Raa takes power and allies the Rim with the Society Remnant against the Republic; in Light Bringer, Atlas decimates the Rim's fleet, the Moon Lords elect Diomedes as their leader, and Lysander devastates Io.
