Io
The moon of House Raa, seat of the Rim's Sovereigns, ravaged in Light Bringer.
Io, a moon of Jupiter, is the seat of House Raa and the heart of the Rim in Pierce Brown's Red Rising series. Its ArchGovernor Revus au Raa is murdered at Darrow's victory feast, which sets off the Rim Golds' rebellion, and Romulus au Raa, ArchGovernor of Io, takes it out of the Society in the Second Moon Rebellion.
Lore & Background
In Iron Gold, Cassius and Lysander are taken to Io, where Cassius fights many members of House Raa in duels before Seraphina defeats him, and Romulus commits ceremonial suicide. In Light Bringer, Volsung Fa razes Io and enslaves its people, the Daughters of Athena rescue enslaved Ionians, and Lysander later devastates Io, destroying the Rim's capacity to feed itself.
