Gameplay
The player controls Yūto, exploring a school to find objects possibly inhabited by spirits. Taking a photo of a suspected possessed object with a mobile phone advances in-game time by five minutes. In battle, the player can email a picture from the phone to summon the corresponding spirit as an ally. The battle system relies on the power of words: characters at school, including friends and staff, occasionally share proverbs, rumors, or myths during conversation. These words can be attached to spirits during combat, up to three per spirit, granting abilities essential for fighting the Ayakashi.
Plot
Yūto Ishigami is pushed from a classroom window by a fellow student but survives, awakening with the ability to see supernatural beings. His school is overrun by demons called Ayakashi, which cause recent troubling incidents. Helpful spirits inhabit everyday objects known as Yorishiro scattered throughout the school, and these are the means to fight the Ayakashi invasion.
