Gameplay

Sweet Fuse is a mystery and romance visual novel where the player controls Saki Inafune through seven days of death games. The core gameplay involves reading narrative and dialogue, with occasional choices for Saki's responses. Selecting correct responses can earn affection points for a character, raising that character's affection level. At times Saki becomes irate, indicated by a shaking red screen, and the player chooses whether she restrains or releases her anger. Explosive Insight sections require Saki to solve a problem; the player picks up to three highlighted keywords from her thoughts, and a correct selection triggers an epiphany. Incorrect selections usually lead to a bad ending and a prompt to retry. The game has a branching plot with multiple endings determined by player decisions.
