Seven Warlords of the Sea
Pirates licensed by the World Government, until the Reverie abolished them.
The Seven Warlords of the Sea, fully the Royal Seven Warlords of the Sea, were seven powerful pirates granted legal leniency by the World Government, with their bounties voided, in exchange for a share of their loot and for defeating weaker pirates. They are loosely based on European privateers.

Lore & Background
At the start of the series the members were Dracule Mihawk, Sir Crocodile, Donquixote Doflamingo, Bartholomew Kuma, Gecko Moria, Boa Hancock and Jimbei; Kuma had replaced an earlier member, Hanafuda. After Baroque Works was exposed, Blackbeard replaced Crocodile but soon left, Jimbei resigned to side with Whitebeard, and Moria was discarded by the Government. During the timeskip Trafalgar Law, Buggy the Clown and Edward Weevil filled the open seats, and Law and Doflamingo were removed once their actions in Dressrosa came to light. At the Reverie, led by Nefertari Cobra and Riku Dold III, the member nations voted to abolish the Warlords, stripping every remaining member except Kuma of position and legal status.
