It is said that only by surviving the treacherous defenses of the monument and navigating its labyrinthine hallways can one claim this prize. Once retrieved, it does not merely sit idle; it hums with potential energy, waiting for the precise combination of materials needed to awaken the Conduit's true power, turning a simple beacon into a source of underwater breathing and illumination.

In Their Own Story

The water grew colder as the diver descended past the kelp forests, the sunlight fading into a ghostly twilight. Before him loomed the jagged silhouette of an Ocean Monument, its prismarine walls slick with slime and shadow. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of salt and decay. He moved silently, avoiding the glowing eyes of the Elder Guardian that patrolled the central chamber. With trembling hands, he opened the final chest in the treasure room. There it lay: a pulsating sphere of deep blue light, beating like a living organ against the cold stone floor. The Heart of the Sea. It called to him, promising breath where there was none.

Reader's Guide

The Heart of the Sea is not a tool you can hold or use directly; rather, it is the essential catalyst for creating a Conduit. To utilize its power, players must first locate an Ocean Monument and brave the hostile guardians within to find one hidden in a treasure chest. Once secured, the artifact must be placed at the center of a specific frame structure made entirely of Nautilus Shells. This construction requires eight layers of shells arranged in a pyramid shape around the Heart. When completed, the Conduit activates instantly. The activated Conduit grants players within its range the 'Conduit Power' effect. This allows breathing underwater indefinitely, provides night vision to see clearly through murky depths, and increases mining speed while attacking aquatic mobs. It is the ultimate tool for deep-sea exploration.

Did You Know?

• The Heart of the Sea is one of the few items in the game that cannot be crafted or obtained from villagers; it must be found exclusively in Ocean Monuments.
• It is the only item required to activate a Conduit, which provides unique underwater benefits that no other beacon can offer.
• Despite its name and appearance, the Heart does not provide health regeneration on its own unless placed inside an active Conduit structure.
