The mechanics of the Beacon are deeply tied to the geometry of its base; the larger and more complex the pyramid constructed beneath it, the greater the range and potency of its effects. It is said that the beam acts as a conduit between the physical world and a higher plane of existence, channeling buffs such as Speed, Strength, or Regeneration directly into those who stand within its radius. This phenomenon has made the Beacon a symbol of triumph for explorers, marking the spot where they have conquered the Wither and secured a sanctuary of power.

Reader's Guide

To activate a Beacon, players must first craft it using five glass blocks, three iron blocks, and one Nether Star obtained by defeating the Wither boss. Once crafted, the Beacon must be placed on top of a pyramid structure made entirely of Iron, Gold, Emerald, or Diamond blocks. The pyramid can range from a simple 3x3 base to a massive five-layered construction. The size of this base directly determines the radius in which the Beacon's effects are active and whether secondary powers become available.

Once placed, right-clicking the Beacon opens an interface where players can select specific status effects like Speed, Haste, or Resistance. Only one primary effect can be chosen at a time unless both slots are filled with the same block type, allowing for a combination of two effects. The beam remains active indefinitely as long as the pyramid underneath is intact and unobstructed by solid blocks above it.

Did You Know?

• A Beacon will not function if there are any opaque blocks directly above it blocking the path to the sky.
• The Nether Star is a one-time crafting ingredient consumed to create the Beacon block; it does not need to be replenished or used as fuel during operation.
