Lore & Background
"Cat" is one of the compositions in Volume Alpha that does not follow the simplistic ambient style that Rosenfeld established as the basis for most of the album's tracks. Instead, it is an upbeat chiptune theme that uses synthesisers, similar to the track "Dog". The track is part of the album's digital release on 4 March 2011 via Bandcamp, and was included in the physical releases by Ghostly International in 2015 (vinyl and CD) and 2025 (cassette). As of the source's latest update, "Cat" has been certified gold by the RIAA, following the earlier gold certifications of "Sweden" (August 2023) and later "Minecraft" and "Subwoofer Lullaby".
