The artifact is intrinsically linked to the flow of energy within the beacon pyramid. When placed atop a base of gold, iron, emerald, or diamond blocks—but not netherite blocks—the Nether Star activates the structure, projecting a beam of light that pierces the clouds and reaches into the sky. This connection allows the beacon to channel its power down to the player, granting buffs such as speed, strength, or regeneration. It is said that the star retains a fragment of the Wither's chaotic essence, transformed by the beacon's geometry into a force for protection and enhancement.

Reader's Guide

The Nether Star is a unique item obtained exclusively by defeating the Wither boss. Once acquired, it cannot be crafted or duplicated; each kill yields exactly one star. Its primary function is as a key ingredient for crafting Beacons, which are essential end-game structures. To utilize the star, players must construct a pyramid base using blocks of gold, iron, emerald, diamond, or netherite in specific tiered layers.

The Nether Star is then placed directly on top of this pyramid to activate the beacon. Once active, it projects a beam into the sky and allows the player to select powerful status effects within its range.
