Shipwrecks generate randomly within ocean and river biomes, often partially submerged or resting on the seabed. Players should approach with caution, as these structures frequently spawn hostile Drowned mobs that attack upon detection. Exploration requires breathing equipment like a water bottle or conduit power to avoid suffocation while searching for hidden caches. Loot is contained within barrels and chests scattered across the deck and hull. Common rewards include fish, emeralds, iron ingots, and nautilus shells, which are essential for crafting conch items. The most valuable find is often a treasure map leading to buried treasure on nearby beaches. Defensively, players should clear surrounding water of enemies before boarding. Barrels can be looted quickly without breaking the block itself. These structures serve as mid-game resource hubs, offering materials that are difficult to obtain elsewhere while adding danger to aquatic exploration. They do not generate in frozen oceans or deep dark biomes. Breaking chests yields loot directly into inventory slots.
