The Shark UAV was developed by Ukrspecsystems following the full-scale Russian invasion that began on February 24, 2022, with flight tests commencing less than six months later. It combines technologies and experience from the larger PD-1 and PD-2 operational-tactical UAVs used in combat. The drone is launched from a catapult and lands using a parachute.

The UAV is equipped with a Full HD optical-electronic surveillance complex offering 30× optical magnification and an additional 3× digital zoom, enabling observation of targets up to 5 km away. Its communication module uses AES256 encryption, allowing penetration up to 80 km into enemy territory under electronic warfare conditions. In 2022, the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation announced the purchase of a Shark UAV for Ukraine's Armed Forces, and by 2023 had acquired three Shark systems. In November 2022, OKKO and the Come Back Alive Foundation initiated a fundraiser to buy 25 Shark systems, totaling 325,000,000 UAH, which included 75 UAVs, 25 Torsus vehicles with control points, and 25 launch setups.
