The Gavran 145 is a loitering unmanned aerial system from Serbia, developed by the Military Technical Institute and built by Utva Aviation Industry. Designed for autonomous operation, it performs long-range surveillance and precision strikes. Operators can keep the drone circling over a target area for an extended time before deciding to attack, which helps limit unintended damage and allows the mission to be called off if necessary.
The system launches from ground-based canisters mounted on trucks or trailers, giving it mobility for frontline deployment. It is one of the few drones in its weight class (30 to 50 kg) capable of loitering for up to 10 hours, with a cruising speed of 45 m/s and a maximum descent speed of 75 m/s. The Gavran 145 measures 2.2 meters in length with a wingspan of 2.4 meters and weighs 50 kg. It is powered by an electric motor, reaches a speed of 160 km/h, and can fly up to 2,000 meters in altitude. Endurance is 10 hours, with a range of 50 km or up to 150 km depending on configuration. The warhead, weighing 8 to 15 kg, can penetrate 1,000 mm of rolled homogeneous armor. Guidance relies on an electro-optical camera with target tracking, and operation is via a wireless radio link.
