Cladophoraceae is a family of green algae belonging to the order Cladophorales. Its members are mostly found in marine or brackish environments, though a few species live in freshwater. The algae grow as filaments that are one cell thick. These filaments can be free-floating or attached to a surface, and they may be unbranched, sparsely branched, or heavily branched.
