City's 1970 League Cup win capped a historic double-trophy season.
Manchester City won the League Cup in 1970, defeating Górnik Zabrze 2–1 in the European Cup Winners' Cup final that same year, and also won the League Cup that season, becoming the second English team to win a European trophy and a domestic trophy in the same season.
