Tommy Johnson
Manchester City forward whose 38 goals in 1928–29 set the club's single-season record.
Thomas Clark Fisher Johnson, born 19 August 1901 in Dalton-in-Furness, Lancashire, was an English footballer who played as a centre forward or inside forward. He began his professional career with Manchester City in 1919 and spent the entire 1920s with the club. Johnson was noted for his powerful left-foot shot and set a Manchester City single-season scoring record of 38 goals in 1928–29. He appeared in the 1926 FA Cup Final for City and was part of the squad that won the Second Division in 1927. In 1930, he moved to Everton.
