Lore & Background
Stoick once met Drago at a gathering of chieftains, where Drago offered protection from dragons in return for service; when the chiefs refused, Drago's dragons attacked and Stoick alone survived. In the film Drago sends his armada against Valka's nest, where his Bewilderbeast kills the reigning alpha and takes control of the dragons. Drago blames the deaths of his family in dragon attacks during his childhood. His Bewilderbeast forces a hypnotised Toothless to fire at Hiccup, and Stoick dies taking the blast. Toothless later breaks the Bewilderbeast's hold, and the defeated Bewilderbeast retreats into the sea with Drago. In the DreamWorks Dragons series he is the warlord behind the hunters and trappers and appears in a cameo in the finale.
