Monstrous Nightmare
The fire-wreathed dragon species of Snotlout's Hookfang and Hiccup's final exam.
The Monstrous Nightmare is a dragon species in the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. In the first film Hiccup faces a captive Monstrous Nightmare in his final exam and tries to subdue it to show that dragons can be peaceful, until Stoick unintentionally enrages it and Toothless comes to Hiccup's defence. Snotlout's dragon Hookfang is a red male Monstrous Nightmare, and the Book of Dragons short places the species in the Stoker class with the Terrible Terror.
