Reader's Guide
A year after being shot down a mine shaft, Michael recovers and resumes his hunt. Jamie, left mute by trauma in the Haddonfield Children's Clinic, senses when her loved ones are in danger, and Dr. Loomis wants to use that link to stop Michael. Michael kills Jamie's foster sister Rachel and her friend Tina, and Loomis sets a trap at the old Myers house.
The film introduced a mysterious "Man in Black" and the Thorn cult subplot, which was largely minimized in the final cut and expanded in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Shot in Salt Lake City in 1989, it grossed only $11.6 million, the lowest of the franchise.
