Reader's Guide

The film follows Michael Myers, who murdered several people at the age of ten and was locked up at Smith's Grove Sanitarium, until he breaks out seventeen years later and stalks Laurie Strode and her friends on Halloween night. Zombie developed it as both an origin story and a remake.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer released it in the United States on August 31, 2007. Reviews were generally negative, but it grossed $80 million worldwide against a $15 million budget, and a sequel, Halloween II, followed in 2009.
