Deep Desert
The open sands of Arrakis, home of the great worms
The Deep Desert is the name the Fremen and others used for the vast, most hostile deserts of Arrakis, mainly the regions near the equator, though the term was sometimes used for deserts closer to the inhabited polar areas. It is home to the largest and most dangerous sandworms and was avoided by everyone except the Fremen.
