Salusa Secundus
The Imperial Penal Colony that forges the Emperor's Sardaukar.
Salusa Secundus is the original homeworld of House Corrino in Frank Herbert's Dune universe. Devastated by atomics, it later became the Emperor's prison planet and the secret training ground of his elite Sardaukar, while the Imperial court moved to the planet Kaitain.

The harsh conditions of the planet are what make the Sardaukar, soldier-fanatics loyal to the Padishah Emperors of House Corrino, the most formidable professional military of their time and the key to the Corrino hold on the throne. The Fremen of Arrakis are honed by a desert that rivals the Sardaukar's training world, and in Dune Paul Atreides' Fremen army defeats the previously unstoppable Sardaukar. The Salusan bull, a fierce, many-horned creature used in bullfighting on Caladan, originates here.
