The sun dips low over Addison Street, casting long shadows across the brick facades of the taverns. Inside The Cubby Bear, the air is thick with roasted peanuts and anticipation. A local fan, wearing a faded jersey from decades past, taps his foot to the distant hum of the crowd gathering at the gates. As the first pitch is thrown, a collective hush falls over the room, followed by the roar of the ivy-covered walls echoing through the neighborhood. For three hours, the rest of Chicago fades away; there is only the crack of the bat and the shared faith of a city with a legacy dating back to 1908.

It is bordered by West Diversey Parkway to the south, West Irving Park Road and West Montrose Avenue to the north, North Ravenswood Avenue to the west, and Lake Michigan to the east.
